It seemed like Rick was seeking absolution for the life he'd lived.

And then I told him, "You know, Jesus is the only way, Rick.

You know, you really need to, um, surrender to him." And so I was trying to, you know, help him.

And, um, on the phone only, 'cause I would not come back there.

But he always would call me, you know, and interrupt me in my life.

And so then it was kind of like a client and a sad soul that I was trying to help get saved.

And um, he told me, he goes, "Yeah, well," so I prayed to the tree, and I said, "Rick, the tree isn't gonna save you."

Rick was praying to the big tree at his fort, the one where he hung the bras.
