S- Uh, what are some of your favorite stories that you've covered, uh, if whether it was, you know, i- in your original station or since moving over here?
21:05
Mm-hmm.
21:06
Um, well, I have been involved since 2009 in, like, the oi- opioid, when opioids were strong.
21:13
Uh, former Congresswoman Mary Bono and I, uh, worked together on a story.
21:17
Her son had gotten addicted to, uh, Oxycontin, and she wanted to come forward as a mom, um, and talk about it, and so we did that.
21:26
I had a neighbor who had her son kidnapped and taken to Utah, same kinda issue.
21:30
So like 2008, 2009.
23:43
if it wasn't for you-
34:01
How common is it for people to go missing in, in the Palm Springs area?
34:06
People go missing.
34:07
I, we hear about it all the time.
34:10
Elderly people with dementia, um, a runaway, you know, that sort of thing.
34:15
But in talking to the captain of the Palm Springs Police Department, he said it is rare for someone to go missing and for there to be foul play.
35:36
He wouldn't just miss this, and he wouldn't not call, because we had plans."
35:41
You know, and obviously at that point as a friend, I, I would of course, I'm neurotic and Jewish, I would assume that they were, like, trapped under a large piece of furniture or in a ditch on the side of the road.
35:50
I would never in a million years think, like, there was some nefarious criminal element around this person.
6:15
Here's Karen Devine, news anchor for KESQ.
6:19
Lisa DeMaria, she, totally described as tough and smart and well-read, and a hard worker, and a bulldog in the courtroom.
6:27
And in interviews with our TV station, she never held back, which I loved about her.
6:33
Because, you know, sometimes you get these generic reactions from attorneys.

23 MINS LATER

30:01
Did you guys report on the controversy regarding Judge Downing?
30:04
We absolutely did.
30:06
When we heard about what Judge Downing said, it was a shocker.
30:11
You know how the places you hear a gasp in a courtroom? There was a gasp in the newsroom.
