But, uh, you know, the journey for you and, and when was that moment that you went, "I actually wanna take my cricketing career seriously," or, "I've got a shot in this, I'm gonna give it a crack"?

Yeah.

Uh, um, it's a, it's a f- funny question that, 'cause when you're, you're younger, I mean, although there's that, that thing in the back of your mind and you grow up watching the sport that you love and, and that would be players playing international cricket, like y- watching your dad and, and so there's, there's that in the back of your mind.

But there's just a real passion for the sport, and so as a youngster you don't, you don't think career, you don't think y- you...

I don't believe that anyway.

You're just sort of playing the sport that you love.

And, um, I enjoy team sports, so that's a really fun dynamic as well, and meeting people and having, you know, different friendships.

That's definitely a moment, I'm sure, for you where it was difficult.

How long have you dreamed of being in the jockstrap business?

It wasn't a dream from a young age.

In fact, it came from pain and getting hit by Dale Steyn.

He was the first to help me come up with the idea.

It was about 14 years ago now in a test match in Wellington and split my box in half, which was incredibly painful.

In fact, in the same game, a South African player, Hashim Amla, actually had to retire hurt and ended up going to hospital for a very similar thing.

He suffered worse than me.
