Did you have a career in mind before you found the love for romance writing?
4:46
Yeah, I mean, I knew I wanted to be a writer.
4:49
Um, I, I've always wanted to write books, but my mom, so supportive of me, but also was like, "Just in case, you should maybe major in something that makes money." So I kind of thought about what goes hand-in-hand, and self-publishing was not on my radar, but I did think I love to write, so maybe advertising and PR.

If I can't make it as an author, I could at least do what I love in that space.
5:11
So that's why I double majored.
5:12
Um, and then when I graduated, I started reading for fun again.
5:16
I didn't have assigned reading anymore, and it was like I was devouring, like, the Divergent series, The Hunger Games, Fifty Shades of Grey, and I was so hungry for more while I was also trying to figure out what I wanted to do.

Was it challenging to go back to this story, into Jamie's head?
42:48
so fun so were you inspired by particular like any particular story lines that you saw on below deck over the years when you were writing love overboard i
42:57
think there were a little bit from so many different seasons that kind of made their way in um usually it was like things that i wish would have happened or you know if i was on the boat and orchestrating and pulling strings like a producer that i would have maybe produced But, you know, I feel like what I loved about writing Love Overboard was that I had all this knowledge from watching the show of kind of what happens.
43:23
But I also could sort of create drama that maybe, you know, when you're like watching the teaser and it looks like something crazy is about to happen and then they show it and you're like, oh, they just talked normally.
43:33
Nothing actually happened.
43:35
Right.
43:35
Right.
43:36
Right.
44:57
Well, how did you research like the behind the scenes part where like Ember's talking to the producer, the camera people, etc.? ?
