N
11:17Not So EruditePANELIST
Should we speak up about it? Should we ca- should we, like, uh, give it oxygen, right? Some of these issues, or should we simply just kind of let them go off, express their, uh, express their opinion and not really talk about it and focus more on MAGA and more on Trump? I guess, w- what's kind of the, the, the feel for the people you, you speak with and in the circles you run in, and what are your thoughts on the subject at hand?

Well, I think most people o- in the operative space do agree that you always wanna do a politics of addition and not subtraction, and so their impulse is not to actually go out and criticize.

We don't get to talk about what we're, what we want, you know, all the time, and neither do candidates.

And so it's not that the DNC gets to decide, "Okay, these are the topics of the week." It's Hasan Piker went out and said something insane, and now every Democratic candidate is gonna be asked that, whether they think that's a good topic to cover or not.

And I think that a lot of times because people are so afraid of, you know, what happened in 2024, what happened in 2016, where they felt at least, and I think the data backs it up, that a, a big segment of the left, whether it was 10 to 12% of Bernie primary voters who ended up voting for Donald Trump, or what happened to Kamala Harris in 2024, the left doesn't show up, and they don't wanna alienate those folks.
