Designing Change: Building Pathways for Women in Northeast Nigeria

So now moving on to your transition from engineering to tech, are there any engineering skills that you think have helped you to be the digital product designer that you are today?
K
8:40Over the years, what I've learned is that there are a lot of transferable skills that you can have, especially if you are competent.
K
8:49So even back then when I was studying chemical engineering, I was at the same time reading novels, connecting with people, and doing things that most engineering students wouldn't do.
K
9:03So that mindset of reading wide, of connecting with people beyond the people in my engineering circle, these are things that I could quickly apply in the tech space as well.
K
9:15And also skills like effective communication, hard work, making sure that everything that you do has a touch of excellence in it, really helped me in transitioning into tech.
K
9:27I know that it's not just the hard skills that I have right now that are helping me to thrive in the tech space.

What was it like when you thought about creating that platform? What does it even do?
