right? It was a lot strange.

stranger than some of the stuff i was used to you know but yeah absolutely i wouldn't say that like it was frustrating but i had to definitely uh do a ego check on who i thought i was in the woods if that makes sense you know and and make sure that like i just didn't i don't know i i'm not doing a great job of verbalizing this but yeah it was hard to go do like a true Midwest hunt with those implications, you know, because that is a pretty coveted tag, right? It would be different maybe going to an OTC state and hunting public and, you know, just looking for quality deer.

But I was truly, I was trophy hunting.

I'm not ashamed to use that term about stuff.

Like I want to shoot a big giant buck that's old.

Like that's a cool thing for me.

often if i'm not seeing what i like because i come up with an idea it's not i'm not just bombing in there again it's i'm there because this this this and this and so because of that if it ain't doing that then somebody was in here or it's not what i thought it was

also um both of those strategies that he's talking about can be really effective i think one of the issues that uh people have is they end up being fence riders and they'll kind of do one and kind of do the other.

And when you do that, you end up with nothing.

Right.

And so like, if you have a good, I mean, I think about one of the, the first year that I hunted public land really hard was 2013.

And I had a tree stand.

That wasn't a good spot.

I've never, I've never killed him when it stood up, but I've, I've watched him get out of their bed from 75 yards or whatever.
