Was that, was that after, after you guys won the first round against Laguna, I remember you sent a text to the president of the team and you said, I don't know, you can tell me what you said, but I think it, you kind of had a good feeling at that point.
4:49
Yeah.
4:49
Yeah.
4:50
I don't know the exact words, but, uh, something along the line, I took the entire team to dinner after the first round and, uh, and the coaches and said something about like, this team is special.
5:05
We're going to have a, we're going to have a lot more of these dinners and, um, took a picture of everyone at the dinner and sent it to them.
5:13
But, um, it, it, it is like, The group was crazy.
5:19
Our starting pitching was really good.

40:37
I think, I don't know.
1:02
Since Beau turned two, I do think I need to ask for your thoughts and reflection on being a dad of a two-year-old and anything that has come with that, because it is crazy, and I will say... everyone says it goes by so fast but it is that is an understatement because I know we've done a lot in the two years but I feel like we blinked and he is now too um so yeah I need to hear the dad reflections
1:39
Yeah, it has, it's gone really fast.
1:42
And it's funny because like you said, everyone says like, enjoy this now.
1:46
Like you're going to miss this stage.
1:47
It's going to go by so fast before you know it.
1:49
And I know, I mean, he's still only two, but like, I totally understand now.
1:55
Like I fully grasp the saying, which I don't think I did before of like the days are long, but the years are fast.

Right.

There was
22:10
literally orange trees inside the restaurant.
22:14
So you're walking through the bar and it's got the checkered floor and it's kind of dark, like dim lit.
22:21
So you're walking through the bar and you see the orange grows and you're like, oh, this is kind of cool.
22:25
And then they keep walking you past and you go through these other doors and it's like opens up into this massive library looking thing with, like you said, the TV on the ceiling.
22:36
It kind of reminded me of if you've ever been to Firefly in L.A. in studio city how when you walk in it's the bar and it's dark and yeah and it's small and and they have a little library at firefly and then you go through that back door and it opens into this massive atrium and you're like holy cow i never knew this was here like that's kind of the vibe it had but the the food was insane the food was

28:03
And
28:03
for, so like, it was more than just the Pantone.
8:13
You got a bite on the line, baby
8:14
... entire off-season.
8:15
I'm like, "Okay, cool." So I reach out to my agent, and he's like, "Yeah, yeah, I got something in my inbox." And so that's how the ball started rolling in Mexico, and then I made some phone calls to some people that I know have played down here and started asking questions and, um, you know, got connected and in contact.
8:36
I was with three teams.
8:39
Um, Chihuahua, who was actually the first team to reach out, and then Mexico City, 'cause Lorenzo Bundy's down there, and he's the, he's the manager there.
8:46
And then, um, I ended up getting connected to Tijuana from Brendan Bernardino, because he played here for three years, and I played with him with the Red Sox, and he was like, "Dude, let me call the GM over there and get in contact with him and let him know that you're trying to play and see what happens." Um, he's like, "I think that would be the best fit for you and Cort and Beau," because he's like, "You can literally just live in San Diego and commute every day, and it's, it's so easy." He's like, "That's what, that's what me and Candy did, and, and his son Jay." So, um, waited a few days and started to hear back from the Toros, and from that point, it just kinda moved pretty quickly, and it was a decision.
9:33
Um, you know, Mex- Mexico City wasn't gonna work out, and it was, uh, deciding between Chihuahua and the Toros.
