What are the red flags that a pediatrician or a family med doc should be thinking about or looking for when there's a question of a tick bite?
9:36
Yeah.
9:37
And so, um, you know, I think the, the third scenario, so sort of of the three scenarios that we could talk about, the first, kid comes in with a tick, family just needs help taking it off.
9:46
The highest acuity is probably a child who has a tick bite, uh, in the previous several weeks, and now has symptoms.
9:53
And so has, you know, typically fever or a rash are the primary reasons that a, a parent is gonna bring their child in after a tick bite to be seen.
10:02
Um, and the way I think about this, number one, pediatricians need to think about the non-tick borne things first.
10:09
Um, tick borne illnesses in general are relatively rare compared to the other common things that we would see, and right, there's 1,000 things that cause fever and rash in kids that are far more likely than a, than a tick borne illness.
