So the frame is... very likely to be original and it's got some really beautiful elements in it so families might be able to spot a sunflower and this is actually a bit of a symbol like you often see in a lot of portraits this time everything's often trying to show a few different things so the sunflower is a symbol that Van Dyck used to show his allegiance to the king at the

well as well as the portraits to see and we've got lots of them we've got lots of different activities and trails for families to enjoy as well so we've actually got a new family art cart and that's where families can pick up all sorts of different trails and activities to enjoy while they explore the galleries they might like to give pocket portrait gallery a go and do some drawings while they walk around they might like to investigate the Tudors with history detectives if they want to explore the portrait award we've got a trail that helps them find their way there and we've also got an activity sheet available in our Six Lives exhibition too
