Before we get into the nitty-gritty of Ginny and your character, how did this fun, sharp, quick, time-piece comedy-drama land in your lane?

It landed like many auditions do for us actors, right? We get an email, okay, American hostage.

I thought it was such a cool project, and I remember there was so much kind of going on in my life that I did the audition, and then I literally forgot about it, which often happens for us.

We do auditions, and then we forget about it.

And then I got a callback, and I remember going into the callback and going, you know what? I don't think I'm going to get this.

So I'm just going to have fun.

It's a double-edged sword.

So when we first meet Jeannie, how would you describe her relationship with Fred? Do you think she looks at him as a mentor?

Oh, absolutely.

Yeah, I think we got to do quite a bit of rehearsal as well before we started shooting.

Well, I say quite a bit, but a week, which is still a lot for us in film world.

So we got to be on the set and together as our little radio team because we wanted the world to feel really lived in.

I figure that for Fred, he cares so much about his team, and I guess he's the captain of the ship, but he values all these voices, and Ginny is such a gifted researcher, and she's been trying to get a story for years.

How did you and John build that relationship? The newsroom relationship?
