So POM stands for the Pediatric Ophthalmology Mentorship Program.

It's a project that I co-founded with Dr. Rupa Wong, who's an amazing pediatric ophthalmologist based in Honolulu, Hawaii.

And the two of us were in the American Academy of Ophthalmology Leadership Development Program together.

And through that program, you create a capstone project that is of interest to your professional societies.

At the time, I was with the Association of University Professors of Ophthalmology, or AUPO, and Rupa was the representative of APOS.

When I think about folks who are listening to this podcast, medical students specifically, one question maybe I would have had when I was coming up and applying into the POM program would be, how can I be a good mentee? And I'm wondering what your thoughts are on that.
