So tell us, how was it in the work environment for you? Were accommodations made for you? Not
11:54
really, no.
11:56
I do know that I was...
12:03
I was masking a lot.
12:07
But I do know because my mum said that each evening that I came home, I was tired.
12:14
And I always put it down to my heart because I had a heart condition all those years.
12:23
Which is why she always, whenever I came home from work, she always did the cooking and the meals and washing up and letting me get on with doing what I had to do, like relaxing, watching television, and not helping her sort of thing.

And how's your health now? Have you fully recovered from the operations and the like?
1:15
Let's first go back into your childhood and tell me where you grew up and was reading and writing always a part of your life?
1:22
Actually, I grew up just up the road from where I'm living now in a, I think it was called a Maisonette flat, top of this in London, UK.
1:34
I was born there until 1977, I was six and a half.
1:42
been moved to the house where I'm in now.
1:45
And I've been living here ever since childhood.
1:51
It wasn't a normal childhood for two reasons.
1:54
Mainly for me, I didn't know at the time that I was autistic or I am autistic.

Can you tell me more about that and how you turned that frightening experience into a book to help other people?
