Do you think that we're going to see those large traditional digital platforms emerge as the winners in that segment? Or do you think that there'll be new entrants or, or people we haven't seen that, that end up in that position?

Julian WrightGUEST
I think when we, we look at AI applications, there is that concern that the existing digital platforms, with all their access to data, would come to dominate.

Julian WrightGUEST
And I think it's useful just to think about the chat assistants, 'cause that's certainly one of the main applications that we're all familiar with using.

Julian WrightGUEST
So if we think about the main chat assistants today, ChatGPT, Gemini, and Claude, they are not gatekeepers in the same sense as search engines and app stores and marketplaces.

Julian WrightGUEST
Now, that could change if these AI assistants become more powerful personal agents.

Julian WrightGUEST
So if we start being able to use them to find and book hotels and flights and choose retailers or restaurants or compare insurance products, then the agent may become the new gateway between businesses and consumers, and we could get back to the familiar platform concerns.

When we're looking at the power of different players in, in these markets and assessing the impact on competition, do we have the right tools to measure competition effects? Are we looking at existing modes like market share, revenue size, or are there different ways that we should be looking at and assessing the competitive position of players?
