But can you talk a little bit about some of your learnings, some of the things that you did that you wish you wouldn't have done, the things that you learned from, and why you're doing what you're doing now?
16:27
Mm-hmm.
16:28
I would say so many learnings, but I, um...
16:33
I'm trying to think of...
16:34
I think, yes, having the right retail partner, very important.
16:38
So if you're going to a conventional account and just saying yes because you have the banner, that might not be the right fit, and then you're spending a lot of money investing, but your customer is not there, so that would be one.
16:53
Um, I would say, yeah, I think that one has been a really big learning.

15 MINS LATER

31:43
Yeah, please do.
15:49
Julia, what is one thing, you already mentioned meeting another resident who was kind of on the same track as you in terms of residency and fellowship, but is there, or can you think of one particular event or series of events that really helped you clarify how important involvement in sort of local, state, national organizations is and hopefully will continue to be in your career.
16:21
Of course.
16:22
So I think the experience that stands out to me a lot was getting to participate in one of the CSA advocacy days.
16:30
I just feel like it really brought to life how critical our knowledge base is and how much value we can add to the conversation when... health care and especially things involving anesthesia are at stake in governmental processes.
16:47
And at the time that I did it, there was, as there often is, kind of different types of bills that were going through the state of California involving who could practice anesthesia in the state and Meeting with all of these different representatives really opened my eyes to how important it is for us to be present in these conversations.
17:09
And the knowledge that we have is I sometimes take for granted what we know compared to the average person about maybe what it feels like to be inside the health care system.
17:19
And so that made me just really excited about continuing to participate in this organized medicine to learn from other people and then just to be a part of what's going on.

on
8:05
For you, was it a considered calculated plan? It was,
8:09
yeah.
8:09
So I was only ever going to go to the US for a year.
8:12
My plan was actually to go back to Germany to study law.
8:14
I was already accepted into Heidelberg University to study law after my year in the US.
8:20
And then funnily enough, on a flight back over Christmas, I met a girl that studied in Scotland and told me all about, at the time, this sort of education system, how it worked.
8:30
And I was just like, oh, I actually love like love studying in the English speaking environment.

12 MINS LATER

20:19
bit
177:25
Where are you guys located out of?
177:27
So our corporate headquarters is in Ambler, PA.
177:30
So that's where me and a couple of my colleagues are from today.
177:33
But our manufacturing facility where we churn out thousands of water heaters a day is in Middleville, Michigan.
177:39
So right outside Grand Rapids.
Casey Boy
Casey BoyPANELIST
178:22
So it just churns out hot water like immediately? Like how does that work?
178:27
Oh, man, they said no technical questions.
178:30
So it's endless hot water.
