The original book that the zine is based on was published in 1918 by Sunset Magazine, which is still in operation today.

It's like a United States West Coast lifestyle magazine.

But the original book was published in 1918, and it's called The Cabin Plan Book.

And I stumbled upon it when I was researching... something in the novel that I'm writing right now.

I think I wanted to know what a certain type of shingle on a cabin was called.

And so I started researching that, and I came across this book from 1918, and it was archived on Project Gutenberg, which takes copyright-free texts and puts them up on the internet.
