i i i don't have a big idea for it i'm kind of like if they were in mutant town they were already living there i like the idea that jake brought up of like leatherheads making new mutants and so like they would have to be found and i think
39:37
we could also do because jake uh brought up the like there's two different sources of mutants there's baxter baxter stockman and leatherhead And Jake, you had said Leatherhead was like strictly making reptiles, right? Yeah.
39:55
What if the difference is that Baxter Stockman's mutants are humans turned mutant or turned animal and the Leatherhead ones are animals turned mutant?

44 MINS LATER

84:14
I keep bringing up IDW comics so we're good don't worry
84:18
should we have kind of a scene where he's like meditating or something trying to like figure it out and we get the like when they're meditating around the fire and we see Splinter in the fire from the movie we get that but it's just Raph and Leo and he's like Being like, what do I got to do? How am I supposed to do this? And the Leo ghost is like, you can't be me, but they don't need me.
84:39
They need you.
84:41
And so we get this back and forth of Raph trying to figure out what Raph as a leader looks like.
21:16
Does he show up or does he immediately go out? like does splinter come to leo's bedside or dead like deathbed or does splinter go out and start wrecking shit
21:28
so i know that we the audience don't know who did it and i don't think mikey and raf do but i'm assuming donnie would yeah donnie would make sense um But Donnie's not here, so when they talk to Splinter, he'd be like, who did this? And they were like, we don't know.
21:49
It was done before we got there.
21:52
And then Splinter can be like, why weren't you together in the first place?
26:29
flying off the handle he's
26:30
angry he wants to kill everybody but Raph like his immediately is just kind of like well someone has to step up and take charge if Leo's not here I think Raph kind of tries to like be the big brother now and then so and splinters grieving by in a rage and April's losing herself in her work but her work happens to be inspecting the body
16:23
[golf club hits ball]
16:24
I wanna pop in real quick and talk about practice planning.
16:28
You ever been to the range with big plans for a great practice session, and then halfway through you get pulled away? Maybe you get a call or you run out of time or you just lose focus.
16:40
And then the next day you're not even sure where to pick back up.
16:44
That used to be me all the time.
16:46
I would start with great intentions, but without a clear plan, my practice would drift.
16:53
And when your schedule is unpredictable, like mine is with coaching, podcasting, and, you know, family life, it's easy for practice to feel scattered and unproductive.

13 MINS LATER

30:11
... because the blueprint is the same across everything.
33:51
But
33:51
if we're doing this thing with April, which I do really like, do we need Karai? Or what do we do with Karai? Karai...
34:00
To my knowledge, I didn't know anything about Karai until the 2012, 2010, whatever series that is.
34:07
So to me, she's a relatively new character.
34:10
Okay.
34:12
But I have my idea for her.
34:16
And it ties into Baxter Stockman as well.

11 MINS LATER

45:22
I, josh do you have something if not i have a i have a a trigger in my head
ChrisHOST
4:35
yeah that's where I stopped as a kid and I'm kind of glad because even if I had gotten past that that just shows you how unequipped I was to handle any of the other real puzzles in that game at that time
4:48
it's crazy too because this predates the Nintendo 64 era and by then I was like heavy into players guides I got I got players guides for Ocarina and Mario and I think I had I had a couple for Pokemon and like banjo kazooie and i would just like get the player's guide so like that's what you did before you had game facts to go to and just read everything or talk to everybody but it kind of kills a lot not kills the momentum of the game but kills a lot of the mystery of video games and you know everything that's going to happen and i didn't have that with this one like all that mystery was front and center

1 HR 14 MINS LATER

ChrisHOST
79:22
Yeah.
79:22
But like the last dungeon in the, especially in these game boy games.
79:25
And I think the, I don't know if this is the last one or the penultimate dungeon in the seasons, but the Sword and Shield dungeon is where I stopped my last gameplay of seasons because I got turned around and could not figure out where I went wrong or where I needed to go, and I just got frustrated and walked away.
79:44
So a lot of these final dungeons are just like, they're not testing necessarily your... how good you are at playing the game as much as they are testing your patience.
79:56
Um,

21:41
They're a team that's in the mix for their division, and up until the relay, they have cleared all of the mandatory checkpoints.
21:49
I tend to do a lot of the land nav, and so I was going to do the long part.
21:55
And actually, I thought it went pretty well.
21:58
The last three or four points, Garrison and I were kind of together for those, which was good confidence boost.
22:06
And in part because of that, I was feeling pretty good.
22:08
And then because it seemed like the short heart had a lot of the same points.
22:14
So I went back out and did the short heart.
Jim Murnin
Jim MurninCORRESPONDENT
22:17
Like Rick from Chaos Required, Josh takes the approach of drawing on his familiarity from the first course in undertaking the second, leaving the final two legs for Alex and Scott.
10:36
Mm-hmm
10:36
... and do this well because I know it has a good outcome when I do it better, right? I, I've never done like a long-term study on myself of like higher percentage mental game to lower score if there's a true correlation, but I, I do know that when I am better mentally on a shot, I hit shots better.
10:57
And try to keep those separate, try to keep results separate from mental process as far as scoring.
11:03
You know, you can have a good mental process and a bad shot and vice versa, but that's one way that I score.
11:09
I also have a, um, we just launched a new mental game assessment on my site, uh, that has a much more quantifiable component where you, you can get individual like, uh, mental game trait strokes gained and then an overall mental game index that kind of scores your whole, whole, uh, mental game.
11:34
And it's cool.
11:35
I, you can take it repeatedly, but you can kinda see, um, progress or the opposite, you know, getting worse, uh, across your whole mental game index of like, okay, I'm mentally I'm better than I was before or clearly I, I struggle on this individual aspect-

24 MINS LATER

35:33
So how long did you kind of take off, just to give players a little bit of perspective? And then we'll dive into what you're doing now.
MikeHOST
19:30
Yeah.
19:31
And I'm like, "Whoa.
19:33
Like, he's, he's actually playing really well," and like, like we would expect him to, but then it just kinda a big miss here and maybe a big miss there.
MikeHOST
22:02
I know.
22:03
And, and when we don't ...
22:04
And it's not like you have to be ...
22:06
I think where we fooled ourselves in the past, it's like, "Oh, it was this and that." It's like, no, it was three shots.
22:14
Like, where ...
EliHOST
39:57
Mm-hmm
39:57
... 'cause I don't need to be necessarily warmed up for it.
40:00
And then I'll maybe go do some short game and then, uh, some approach on the range.
40:04
Oh, shoot, uh, my practice session got cut short.
40:07
I only have 45 minutes instead, so that's okay.
40:10
Uh, it, my practice session isn't ruined, I still get to check off a few things.
40:14
But the next time I show up I'll hit some more things on the plan."
EliHOST
41:30
Yeah
12:01
If you like Digimon, if you like actual plays, if you like-... teens [laughs] uh, just real crappy teens, um, then it's, this is the show for you.
12:12
Similar to y'all getting me back into Pokemon and Power Rangers, Binary Break is so good it's got me very close to getting back into Digimon.
13:04
Oh.
13:05
Sort of.
13:05
It's, it's not really a rogue-light mode, it's more of just, like, a randomized gauntlet.
13:10
Um, I've replaced the battle tower with what I call the Charge Tower.
13:14
And so instead of going in and fighting random trainers, you will fight very strong teams of the trainers from the game.
13:21
So all the gym leaders, all the Elite Four, the champion.
MikeHOST
22:24
Okay.
22:24
We have to, of course, do that.
22:26
Uh, you move right from there into block practice, and this applies to all the types of practice or all the, all the parts of the golf bag: driving, approach, short game, putting.
22:38
There's block practice, random practice, and performance practice we'll call it.
22:44
So you would move into block practice first, and this is a, this is gonna have a technical focus.
22:52
So this is gonna be you working on the technical movement or the concept that you or, and Larry are working on, or you or, you and Jason are working on.
23:03
And the focus here is kind of awareness of the movement.

15 MINS LATER

EliHOST
38:31
Mm-hmm.
EliHOST
23:25
So I think that's how I just gauge that.
23:29
Yeah, I mean, you guys are both talking about Uh, some kind of unmeasurable feeling sort of things, and then some measurable, you know, actual game result metrics and Mike, to your question of, can I say that I got better if my results were worse or if my, you know, if I leave hitting the ball worse or my S you know, scores on the stack putting or the game were lower.
24:00
I think Eli provided a good answer.
24:02
That was.
24:02
Yeah.
24:04
Did I stick to my plan because I If you stuck to your plan, one, you are kind of casting a vote for, I believe that this plan is the right plan, right? That's an important vote to keep casting over and over because if you abandon it, then you, on the one hand, you're kind of communicating to yourself, okay, I don't believe that this is the right plan because...
24:31
I'm still not doing this well, so I'm going to go off and do this.

7 MINS LATER

EliHOST
31:05
Cause I think it'd just be better at that point just to not have tried to tackle it.
