right? There are so many roofers in the state of Utah.

There's over 900. registered roofers in the state of Utah.

It's crazy.

There are so many.

But yeah, picking the right person.

Because if we're honest here, a roof and a foundation are probably the two most important parts of your entire house.

so is it important that i fix the roof sooner rather than later

Yeah.

Um, doing some Cat 4 climbs.

Uh, we've had, um, uh, some sub-three hour marathoners who, you know, in my early days of coaching, they've now grown up to the age where they no- now do marathoners, like Gavin Wheat, um, Jayden Gray, who's run some amazing times at USM, and then my boys, uh, Matthew and, uh, Luke, um, who have now joined me at William Carey, where I also coach as well as the distance coach.

Um, so just coaching, coaching-wise, like we've had some, we've seen some really cool things come out of Hattiesburg, and so, um, I've been excited about that as the running culture has built up.

Um, and then me personally, as a, as a runner, um, I guess it was that 2024 Rocket City Marathon where I really was like, "Let's just see what we can do.

Let's just see what we can go and accomplish." Um, I'd kinda gotten tired of going down to the Gulf Coast Marathon.

Um, I knew I needed kinda that little bit bigger of a step, um, as far as- ... reliability in the front pack, um, because, I mean, I think I won the Gulf Coast with, like, a, a 2:36, and I maybe had, like, a six-minute gap between second.

In Community Link, we work with youth and their whānau, and most of them are suffering from debilitating generational trauma.

There is a lot of extreme financial hardship.

There's often family harm, family violence, and gang violence as well.

And so these are the types of people that we're working with and some significant mental challenges as well.

So our services, I've got a list here because there's quite a few that we do when we're working with people.

So we have intensive one-on-one mentoring.

For someone listening today who senses God stirring their heart, what practical next steps could they take to become part of God's story or part of the story that God's writing through the ministry that you're involved in?

del sandra's it's like it's the if you know you know or if you're a local you go all the way out to manion for del sandra's or roxburgh or whatever i went to del sandra's three times post pandemic so in 2020 in 2021 in 2022 and every time i went post pandemic was completely different than my experience 2017 2018 2019 something might be a personal thing whatever wouldn't say wouldn't say a word about it but then you'd start seeing other people's google reviews saying oh my god this is not the same cheese that i had two years ago three years ago whatever so okay i'm not the only one that has this opinion weird I went to Chubby's recently.

I'm like, oh my God, this Chubby's cheesesteak was so much better than the most recent cheesesteak I have from Dale Saunders.

So as you guys know, because I commented about, I did these like little brackets for March Madness.

They were so viral.

What's funny, so we were just talking.

Today's May 4th.

Yeah.

I mean, if, if there's damage, I get it, but how do, when would I normally replace it?

So yeah, obviously, like, if we have big windstorms like what we've had and you've got tabs or granules coming down, for sure.

But typically in Utah, the average roof lasts between 20 and 22 years.

And we were talking off the air, you know, you said your, you replaced yours at 22 and a half.

That's right there.

So if you're looking up in the afternoon sun and you're starting to see kind of those shiny fiberglass edges show through, or you're getting the granules every time the wind blows or it rains and coming down and out of your gutters, that's a telltale sign that it's probably about time.

And even insurance companies now are hitting people, especially in the state of Utah, they're saying if your roof is older than 20 years old, you either have to get it replaced or they won't cover you, which is a massive problem.

Can you, can you tell us how you got into it all, and, and what made you go down the, down that, down that path? Because you was a former college football player, right?

Yeah, so I was in the class 2021, uh, came out of Georgia.

I initially went to go play at UCLA, and kinda wanted to get out of my comfort zone.

I was like, you know what? It's LA, everybody do something special here.

Nobody just like re- works like a regular job.

So I'm like, let me try some content while I'm essentially playing and practicing and all that.

Because I was on scout team and stuff, so I was like, you know what? I got a little bit extra time on my hands.

'Cause I'll say, once you done, I got something to say about him.
