So if you want to talk affordability in general, and then if we could, let's get your thoughts on healthcare costs.
9:00
Yeah.
9:01
So I think certainly when you look at affordability, it's not one person responsible or one body of government than the other.
9:07
It is an all-encompassing thing.
9:09
And Whether there's international trade demands, national trade policy, national economic policy, state mandates, that all goes into impacting the cost of living in a society.
9:24
And certainly when you look at our community, we see... higher than average costs i mean certainly when we go grocery shopping we have to go to three different uh... we go to three different uh... grocery stores to make sure that we're save as much money and that's what we have to do is that working family uh...
9:41
but one of the things that the state has to do is say okay where are national implications affecting us, and where can we enact better public policy to make it easier for people to want to stay in New York? And I think a big part of that that drives people out and makes it question the affordability to remain a New Yorker is the tax obligation, is the property tax obligation.
10:44
What's not realistic
38:36
So she wants to know, are you a survivalist? And did you take a bunch of survival courses or spend time in the military prior to writing the book?
38:44
I spent a lot of time with members of the military.
38:46
So I was in with my church growing up.
38:49
I had a young men's leader who's I won't name him because he's like actively doing anti-human trafficking stuff in South America and is a former Marine and U.S.
38:58
Marshal.
38:59
And he would take a bunch of us teenagers out and we would do high adventure camping and he would show us how to make snares and.
39:07
you know, make a fish hook out of whatever and do a ton of hiking and orienteering and things like that.

10 MINS LATER

49:09
And then there are, you know, you're always trying to find that balance.
28:47
So tell me, did Albany finally admit that energy mandates have a real cost to working families?
28:55
They did, and that's, I heard in the update, Senator Borrello mentioned he had voted for a couple bills.
29:04
I did the same thing, and it was funny.
29:05
It was very interesting listening to the conversation on the transportation energy, and I forget what the D stands for, but that bill, all the far-left progressives and democratic socialists stood up against and voted against that bill because we were rolling back and changing some of the CLCPA program mandates and admitting that, as was written, it's not going to work.
29:31
And that really reinforced, well, if they're so unhappy with it, it must be a pretty good thing for the folks that I represent.
29:37
And it admittance that this one-size-fits-all approach in favoring solar and wind above anything else that we know works and actually delivers power, they're admitting it.
29:50
There's still, we need to do more.
33:21
What are you seeing on the ground? What's your spidey sense telling you here about not only the primary, but the midterms coming up?
