Like which ones were these over these ones that you've been wanting to do for a while? I guess I'm asking.
3:55
Yeah, so it's a total mix, as all of our seasons are.
3:58
So we're doing everything from looking for lost pirate ships to exploring Mexican civilizations and caves underground to doing World War II history.
4:08
Some of them were things I had wanted to do for a long time.
4:10
Going to Jamaica and exploring Port Royal is something that had been on my list for forever.
4:15
I mean, this was once called the wickedest city in the world.
4:18
It's what the Pirates of the caribbean ride is based on and it was a notorious pirate city that largely sank in an earthquake off the coast of jamaica and so to go there and look for pirate ships in a sunken city i mean what's what's more goonies than that right so super exciting stuff and then other stories which like our season premiere uh which is this two-part episode on world war ii hell ships was something that i knew very little about A really important, tragic part of World War II about these ships that were used to transport Allied prisoners.
5:28
It's not just to go experience it, but to uncover new
0:36
Uh, that's an amazing journey in itself.
0:40
It sure is.
0:41
You know, this is a chapter of World War II that, uh, that I really didn't know much about.
0:45
I think a lot of folks sadly don't know about, and, uh, that's understandable.
0:48
World War II is a big story.
0:50
And so this is the story of hell ships, and these were Japanese vessels used during the war to transport Allied POWs, and American, uh, POWs among them, all over the Pacific to different work camps.
1:02
And they're effectively floating prisons, very inhumane conditions, and a lot of them were sunk during the war and have not been found.
3:21
[laughs]
32:04
Do you feel more comfortable in one aspect or the other? Does this one feel more grounded to you when you're doing Expedition Unknown versus some of the paranormal stuff?
32:11
Yeah, I mean, look, I would say that Expedition Unknown is certainly more grounded.
32:14
A lot of these stories are archaeological, so they're literally grounded.
32:17
They're in the ground.
32:18
But, you know, from from a storytelling perspective, I love both types of shows.
32:23
I mean, one of the great things about looking for you know, Bigfoot or looking for a, you know, ghost story is the barrier to entry is really simple, right? Like all I need to do is to say to you, here's a person who is sane and normal and grounded, and they had an experience that scared them over in those woods over there.
32:46
And now we're going to go into those woods and see what's there, right? That's as simple as it gets.
34:03
Yeah, I

To be there with Doc Brown, Christopher Lloyd, Back to the Future, which is the greatest movie ever made, greatest trilogy of all time in my opinion, talk to me about going through that experience and kind of living out an '80s kid's dream.
43:37
I mean, I, I, I'm right with you.
43:38
I always say Back to the Future is a perfect thing, and, uh, I had this opportunity to do a four-hour, four-part special which we called Expedition Back to the Future, where we, uh, I teamed up with Christopher Lloyd and we looked for the lost DeLoreans that were used, uh, making the show to help raise money for Michael J. Fox's incredible foundation.
43:56
Uh, to, to say that it was an out-of-body experience would be an understatement.
44:00
I mean, I spent a month filming with Christopher Lloyd.
44:03
Lucky for me, the nicest guy in the world.
44:06
But I mean, every day, I would...

45:02
Uh, were these ones that you've been wanting to do for a while, I guess I'm asking?
4:08
Like which ones were these or were these ones that you've been wanting to do for a while? I guess I'm asking.
4:13
Yeah, so it's a total mix, as all of our seasons are.
4:16
So we're doing everything from looking for lost pirate ships to exploring Mexican civilizations and caves underground to doing World War II history.

It's what the pirates of the Caribbean ride is based on.

It's not just to go experience it,
