Did the Jason Robertson situation play out like you thought it would in the off season?

It's, it's a good question.

And I don't really know that I knew how it was going to play out.

I think the longer it went, eventually it played out like I thought it would.

Uh, I thought there was a possibility that you could get to a resolution earlier.

And if they did get to a resolution earlier, it probably doesn't look like a one-year deal.

It was only once arbitration was a real possibility that both sides kind of had to pivot.

And some of that mentality of, well, let's just get to the playoffs because there's so much hockey to be played and so much we can learn about this team before you get there that when you don't have that playoff run, you really understand what the regular season actually can mean.

Do you guys know that in the season, you and Razor? Do you know the extent and you just have to be, all right, well, we know what's going on, but we can't let that get in our minds during the broadcast?

I mean, by virtue of being around, there's probably some things that we are aware of that aren't public and they stay that way.

But at the same time, when those lists come out, there's always going to be some additional things that – that even, you know, I'm like, oh, really? Okay, that happened too.

It's somewhere in between, but you hear a list like that, and I mean...

That was wild.

It's, you know, Jim was talking yesterday, and he said that in all of his career, and it's a career that spans a while, as a player, as an executive, all the way up from scout through assistant GM to current GM, he's been doing this basically my entire life.

And...

Because that's where it's at.

... for four years and he's, he hasn't missed a game since he came in.

I think he, he's kind of just been this name that if it's not necessarily one of the marquee names from a n- national standpoint in both countries, then it, it certainly is right on the outside of it.

Um, but he's 22.

I mean, how many guys haven't even started their career at the NHL level by the time they're 22 and, and what he's doing.

And he just keeps ascending.

You know, as a 19-year-old he looked the part.

What'd you think of that?

It's three straight 30 goal seasons, um, and now 40, and you don't really know where the ceiling is.
