dog growling and then I like sit up really fast and I'm like, get out from under the bed.
10:52
yeah so imagine you're watching like a thriller movie and the protagonist which is you and me in this movie are like in this creepy house well camera is now behind us in a hallway and then you just see the shadow just go across the camera and we turn around with a flashlight it says like Did you see that? Like, no.
11:17
And nothing's there.
11:18
That is literally our second oldest.
13:58
Do you want to tell them about what happened in the middle of the night?
14:01
Yeah.
14:01
So talking about ghosts, I wake up to a sound that is just like, I'm like, what is that? And I go and I hear the dog growling.
14:13
Our middle child is sitting next to the dog who's growling and has like a room smell good spray.
8:49
And ran to you.
8:50
I think my favorite part about that is that your wife was so happy to meet our family.
8:54
It wasn't just like Mr. Patrick just shows up on our door and then like goes and lives his life, right? Like we are a part of your life because you talk to your wife about us and you talk to your family and everything.
9:06
And I thought that was really cool.
9:07
And just like going back to what you were saying earlier, Allie, when we opened the door, like you didn't just run away.
9:13
Yeah.
9:14
We've had other ship shoppers and like that's their job is to drop off the groceries and leave.

17:56
And just the fact that they have like another... adult who is like invested in their well-being and their life has been super sweet as well.
4:05
We became friends and we were flirty.
4:07
We were friends until it was a junior year.
4:11
And then I was like, maybe I want to take this lovely lady out on a romantic evening.
4:18
That's how I thought about it.
4:20
Really? No.
4:22
In true college fashion, I was like, dang, this chick's hot.
4:25
Let's go get tacos.

8 MINS LATER

12:28
Well,
7:24
[chuckles]
7:24
That's right.
7:25
So I ended up diving deeper into coffee as far as, like, the presentation and how to take care of it and pulling, pulling good shots, tasting the coffee, and, uh, realized that I really wanted to enter into the artisan coffee world.
7:41
And so I got a, a job at Deep Roots Coffee for a minute, where they really emphasized and taught me the importance of taking care of your coffee and what flavor profiles you should be looking out for, how to taste them, best practices for steaming milk, pouring latte art, and, uh, all of that, right? Deep Roots still had recurring customers and still had that, uh, third place mentality where people would, like, walk to the cafe.
8:09
So I still was able to have that community but also dive into the coffee community, the other baristas and the cafe owners and the roasters.
8:19
There's a whole community behind the scenes, which I loved.
8:23
And so there was two different communities that were coming together.

14 MINS LATER

22:48
Oh, I remember reading the, the book.
