Well, it was helpful because we set it in law.

And we had defined very specifically the kinds of content that would run afoul of the law.

And in that sense, it was already dealt with.

Which is why I'm very grateful that Francis agreed to take on this role.

Because the unusual step that we have taken in Singapore is to say that setting up an online safety commission is one thing.

How do you ensure that it has credibility and it speaks with a voice of authority? That's why we passed the law.

Noomba, I think Minister, for you, since you said you joined MDDI in 2021, and just based on what just Frances said, how do you see it has grown and evolved and developed with what you first sought out to try to achieve?

And, uh, allow me firstly to thank, uh, the Institute of Policy Studies, uh, for partnering with MDDI to get, uh, today's forum organized.

Uh, I'm really pleased to see many of our partners whom we have been regularly engaging, including Dr. Carol Soon, Dr. Natalie Pang, and our friends from TOUCH Community Services.

I'm especially happy to see that, um, in the room today are many friends, uh, who are younger, uh, than, um, but also, um, I, I see students, some of you are here in your school uniforms.

Um, and especially I want to give a shout-out to our international partners.
