19:30
That seemed
19:30
hesitant.
19:32
No.
19:32
So like you were saying, like, it's very format dependent.
19:36
So me personally, if I'm only getting like two points or three points for like a sack or something.
19:43
Right.
19:44
I. I am all in on just going elite linebacker, high tackle volume, history, uh, good, you know, tackle rate, efficiency, good, good, low misstep rates.

13 MINS LATER

33:11
Is it the only time she listens to you? I mean, I'm sure it's the other way around a lot of times, right?
MurphHOST
23:53
How do you bridge that overcoming and getting people involved and giving people that sort of courage to try it out, other than just consuming all your content, of course?
24:01
Oh, thank you very much.
24:03
Nice plug there.
24:05
So I would say this.
24:09
If you were going to play in an IDP league, if you were interested in trying IDP out, there are, in my opinion, three the most common IDP scoring settings that are out there.
24:24
sleepers default IDP scoring, which originally started out being called IDP one, two, three, and in the community, that's what it's called.
24:32
But people, you know, I can get into whole debates about like, you know, arguments within the IDP community of like, what's the best scoring setting? Because everybody has their opinion.

14 MINS LATER

MurphHOST
38:38
And I guess that transitions nicely to the strategy, right? So for those who are out there who have been playing IDP one year, two years, no years, or even like five, ten years, what would you say to those players like in terms of the stats that matter, where they could start to get an edge on people in their league? What are the things they need to plan and look for in order to do that?
50:38
All right.
50:40
So I think... you know uh people who uh you know volume is king in fantasy football we all know that that's that's beaten into us since you know birth um but i think it's people that focus on you know let's let's go like this and bob you mentioned you know burrow uh high volume passing quarterback right the more passing attempts you're going to have the the more upside you're going to have for yardage, right? It's the stats where, like, people are like, oh, somebody went off for 40 points.
51:13
I'm like, yeah, but they threw it, you know, what, 20 times? Like, is that an anomaly? Is that something you can count on versus these teams that, like, have bad defenses like the Bengals where they have no choice but to throw it a bazillion times? Like, yeah, the people with the high passing volume are going to be more consistent, I would assume, from week to week.
51:35
versus those that may have a one-off on low passing volume.

6 MINS LATER

57:23
I'm not even sure how that would read.
57:26
So one more thing, Bob, I just wanted to point out to the listeners and viewers.
57:31
Believe it or not, there have been studies done in terms of figuring out what is one of the key metrics in predicting year-to-year ironic consistency in terms of who are the quarterbacks or wide receivers running extra tight ends that have the year-to-year consistency as being the top in fantasy football.
57:50
And fantasy points and points scored and points per game is one of the top predictors, believe it or not.
15:34
When you look at IDP this year.
15:37
Absolutely.
15:37
Absolutely.
15:38
One of the things you want from a linebacker besides just the consistency is, you know, you want them on the field enough, uh, to have an impact for your IDP rosters.
15:46
This is my Booger McFarland, uh, line right here uh when the player is on the field for more than often than not they get more fantasy points like i'm sorry like that that kind of checks out so you have some linebackers that excel on first and second down but when it comes to playing in coverage this is when you want your three down linebackers to be on the field to get you the opportunity to get more fantasy points those guys come off they throw in a coverage linebacker that's that's that doesn't help you that doesn't give you that doesn't maximize your opportunities you know joe brought up uh fred warner one of the very rare linebackers in all of idp fantasy football who grades well not only as a run defender but plays well in coverage he gets defensive stops playing in coverage as well as against versus a run so definitely uh those are few and far between but if you can get somebody who's on all three downs that's what you want uh and then of course you have the efficiency like I know this is going to sound stupid, but there's a stat out there that's called missed tackles percentage.
16:43
And it's literally like guys who go to make a tackle, and they whiff, and the person jukes them out.
16:48
And so how often are they actually wrapping up the guy that they're going after and bringing them to the ground? That's a big deal.

35 MINS LATER

51:58
So sleepers and busts moving into the 2026 IDP season.
