lost her and so and then I went to an athlete my very first year and yeah it was just a really tough year I was trying to make a run on the national team trying to make a name for myself I was playing professionally in my first year just got married and It was a lot, and obviously my mom was my best friend.

Jordan LarsonGUEST
Being an only child, I just relied a lot on her, and I think when I left her after that, I was trying to navigate, who's my person in this sense? Obviously my husband at the time, and when you lose that confidence, it's like, where do you go from here and how do you like navigate life without your mom you know and so not gonna lie I still struggle to this day sometimes and I probably will struggle the rest of my life because it's just it's such a huge thing in my life that I miss and but I know that I mean when she got sick she the first thing she's like you better not be missing a tournament you know like she just was Like my biggest supporter and I just, I play for her and I just, I, yeah, I know.

Jordan LarsonGUEST
But I think that is something for me that I have always struggled with and continue to.

If I were to send a message up to my mom today, I just would hope that I've made her proud.

Jordan LarsonGUEST
My name is Jordan Larson, and this is the story of how the most challenging moment in my life made me strong.

Jordan LarsonGUEST
I believe I first fell in love with volleyball, I would probably say at age 10 or so.

Jordan LarsonGUEST
My parents threw me into a lot of different sports to kind of really try and kind of find the passion.

You were his perfect customer.

Jordan LarsenGUEST
Yes, but more importantly, you know, my mom called him, and, uh, you know, we're both really green in the sense of not knowing anything about how any of this works, and he was just incredibly nice and just walked us through the whole process and just...

Jordan LarsenGUEST
And, uh, so as a, as a graduation present, they bought a four-day editing class for me, which was March of 2016.

Jordan LarsenGUEST
Uh, and so leading up to that, I just made it my goal, I'm going to film everything.

Like how, I don't know, how has the mindset shifted or like, how has your outlook changed? shifted or like, how does your, how's your coaching changed just as like, as you've grown in your game and then seeing like a new generation of athletes come in?
