just tell us a little bit more about your journey Joni through you know getting to become a biochemist but then obviously really expansive and and specializing now in a very specific niche yes

Joni GoodmanGUEST
yes so in my undergrad I knew 100% that I was not going to go to medical school that's usually the question that biochemists get like what do biochemists even do? Like, are you going to medical school? What's happening? And so I knew I didn't want to go to medical school, but I was doing research for a medical school professor.

Joni GoodmanGUEST
And anytime you do research, especially in academia, they want you to talk about it.

Joni GoodmanGUEST
And so probably initially I did have some of that fear of public speaking that everyone has, but the more I did it, the more I actually enjoyed it.

Joni GoodmanGUEST
So when I graduated, I thought that research was what I was going to do, and I was living in Indiana at the time, and there weren't any opportunities available in research.

Joni GoodmanGUEST
So I took what I considered to be a foot-in-the-door opportunity with a medical device company, and I was actually working in a call center doing technical support, so supporting diabetes patients.

In terms of the actual repelling, what was that experience like for you in terms of even extracting some of these kind of more deep messages? Yes.
