Yeah.

I mean, they, they asked me to do a, a shark script, and I, uh, you know, it's a, um, it's a challenge to do anything new [laughs] in this genre, right? And how do you...

Can you add to the language of shark movies at all? And, and it takes a lot of hubris, I think, in a way to, uh, to believe that, that you have anything to add when it comes to shark movies.

But we were looking hard at, um, you know, how to displace the shark as the villain and instead make the shark an obstacle, but really make the movie about people and how they behave, you know, to each other and how they relate to each other and, and then, uh, you know, what, what stirring a shark into the mix might do to that.

Uh, when we, uh, uh, were looking at old films, the ones that seemed to work the best are the ones in which there were multiple types of jeopardy.

In other words, if all you did was set up a buffet for the shark, it gets monotonous over time.

And so y- you really want to have the story develop in a way that's hopefully less predictable than that and, and, and find surprises, uh, for the audience, uh, so that it doesn't just seem like, "Oh, yeah, here goes another one," and, uh, but instead, uh, seems to, to follow a kind of organic pathway to disaster.
