Cherry met the Colonel after he had sold KFC.

And so she was presenting at the Fontainebleau Hotel in Miami, where they were having their national conference, giving several presentations a day, and she looked down, and she saw the Colonel sitting in the front row for every single one of them.

He was really smitten with her and approached her afterwards, and, and they struck up a friendship.

And a couple months later, she and her fiance, Tommy, at the time, they, like many early KFC employees, had an interest in acquiring a franchise.
