I know you did something really interesting with bananas, and then let's shoot off into other products.

Jonathan DeutschGUEST
The way we got into this work was we were actually recruited, um, by the EPA, who at the time was working with some Penn urban planning students to do some work in the neighborhood here in West Philadelphia and University City around redistributing surplus food.

Jonathan DeutschGUEST
So they did a really efficient job of going to retailers, picking up these, uh, overripe bananas, getting them to soup kitchens and shelters and community-based organizations, and that was all wonderful, uh, but they seemed to miss the part where people would actually choose to eat them.

Jonathan DeutschGUEST
And so, and, and I think it's an assumption a lot of folks in, in food security make that it's about access.

Jonathan DeutschGUEST
If we just gave people access to more fresh fruits and veggies and, you know, they were available at the corner store, and they were available in food distribution boxes, like this would solve the, the problems.
