He is a former Marine, a former NYPD sergeant and investigator, and now he's doing something that's probably just as important as all his other jobs, which is hard to say given a career of serving other people, but he's in the service of other people now by – doing some professional counseling and coaching but without further ado i'll pass it over to john give us your uh superhero origin story and what led you to serve in the marines and then you know parlay that into a career into law enforcement as well thanks

thank you thank you for the opportunity um so yes i uh back in high school i think um early on i knew that Law enforcement was something that I was very interested in.

I knew early on in high school that I was probably going to go into law enforcement.

Military service wasn't something that immediately struck me.

My father was in the Navy.

He was in Vietnam.

So that was always in the background, I think, of interest and curiosity for myself.

Or did you find something that was just as compelling or challenging that you wanted to get into?
