Can you explain how apprenticeship levies have ended up working against entry-level apprenticeships?

The apprenticeship levy, essentially, it works like another little bit of tax that employers pay on top of their payrolls.

You can only spend it on a particular product, in this case, apprenticeship training.

So what has happened is that some staff training that would otherwise have been paid for commercially has been turned into apprenticeships.

What it has meant is a a distraction or some turning away from spending apprenticeships on training for new or recent entrants to the workforce.

What steps would you have employers take to start turning this around?

I think employers need to be made more aware of the amount of support that is available from training providers like Daymar.

Particularly for a small employer, you probably don't have anybody internal to handle your recruitment process.
