Is there a history of, a timeline? What's it like? What's the experience like?

So we're the world's first and only museum dedicated to barbecue.

You enter through a giant Southern Pride smoker door.

And so the ones who know, know, and the others just think it's a big, cool-looking door.

The first half of the museum walks you through the elements of barbecue.

So I like to think of it, how does a bill become a law? This is how does meat become barbecue here? Start in the meat room, then work your way through rub and spice and wood and smoke and fire, and then finally finish with sauce, right? The last natural thing you would put on barbecue unless you're in Texas.

And then the back half of the museum walks you through the main American regions.

Have you seen changes already with trends or is that something you kind of want to just stay true to the history origins of barbecue? Yeah.

How long did it take to bring all the, the pieces together and say, "Okay, we finally got it"? And how close did it come to your vision?

Yeah.

I, I really appreciate that question.

I, I mean, in a another scenario where there's not a global pandemic, I think we may have been able to debut a, a little sooner.

Um, but I, I also think the idea is better for having some time to bake, right? Um, and, uh, one of my favorite parts of somebody who creates things is the ability to collaborate with others.

And, you know, I'm a, a writer by trade who [laughs] has since made, uh, podcasts and, um, documentaries, and I've learned that there are so many different ways to tell stories.

And so in some respects, right, I, I got to stand up this story, but then do it with visual artists and architects and exhibit designers from literally across the globe.
