Mm-hmm
7:10
... and kind of spiritually, I think.
7:11
It's fascinating to play someone who's in a deep crisis, who at the beginning of the second film is again playing a, a very different part.
7:19
Um, and, uh, unfortunately, much like all the brilliant performances of everyone in the first film, you yearn for, um, how they felt in the first film.
7:27
And Fiyero is with- without his joy.
7:30
He's been activated politically, and we all, all the characters have to make these huge decisions.
7:35
But he's in a, a moment of quiet rebellion at the beginning of it, and-

6 MINS LATER

14:01
Mm.
6:18
Jonathan, did you ever feel when you were younger pressure to hide the fact that you might be gay because of the business you were in or you were just frightened or were you just confident within yourself that it didn't really matter?
6:33
I think there's so much nuance to it.
6:35
I think there's a combination of all three.
6:37
In a way, I feel innately that I knew myself at quite a young age, actually.
6:42
And the hardware is one of confidence.
6:45
And then, of course, you just take on these stories and these narratives that are sort of like cobwebs.
6:51
And the closer I got, I found acting.
10:49
And it was, all my life really was involved in music.
12:31
Oh, me too
12:32
tooThose two performers, and it was so hot.
12:34
And then I also in, in like even in cartoons, like watching like the masculine form in, when I was really young, in The Little Mermaid.
12:41
I was obsessed with Prince Eric, which I later sort of understood.
12:44
And, and like even in Heartbreak High, which was Australian sort of teenage soap was, there were just like these stories and obviously queer as folk.
12:52
And then Brokeback Mountain came out when I was in my, uh, sixth form, and I changed my thesis on representation in ho- of homosexuality in Brokeback Mountain just so that I had an excuse to go back to cinema about 15 times.
13:03
But it, e- even though the stories itself were painful, it was just enough to see actors performing them, which just shows how breadcrumbed I think we were at that point.
14:12

13:55
Because
13:56
you were dancing? Okay, yeah.
13:57
And I was like, okay, fine.
13:58
And I was sort of on, I was filming Canada.
14:00
So I'd flown in and her ponytail sort of flossed my teeth when we headbutted.
14:06
And then we giggled and that was the beginning of a beautiful friendship.
14:09
But it's amazing.
15:36
But when you get a call like that, how does it go down?
