So my point is, my question is, John, can you explain more to people about the dangers of how if everybody has access to the same information, you truly don't know what's true or not if that's all you're leaning on is AI?

Well, so let's be clear.

AI is neither truthful or not truthful.

AI is just a technology that takes a bunch of information and spits it back to you in a way that tries to be useful to you.

So the point is that If you value authenticity, what you're really saying is somebody's doing something for me that evidences an empathetic connection with me and they're trying to do something to make my life better.

When we talk about somebody keeping it real, we respect them because they respect us.

It's a bilateral connection thing, right? Somebody's being a jerk and keeping it real and what they're really doing is they're hiding behind being a jerk.

What is the mission statement of your awesome organization? Well, so

[laughs]

I won't just do one question.

No, I won't.

Um, y- I think that, um, when I look back at, at my childhood, uh, I think it's fair to say that there was an awful lot of mayhem.

Uh, and I think it's true for a lot of entrepreneurs.

I, I think that, uh, one of the reasons why people tend to become entrepreneurial is they are motivated to try to control their environment, and I grew up in a very chaotic, uh, family.

Um, lot of chaos.

Yeah.

So before, uh, you know, you've told me all that before, but what I want to start before the answer, I want you to take me back to when you held the other belief, not the polished version of where you are now, but the version where you actually thought AI was the thing that could do anything.

Well, I think to be honest, it's not AI, it's software.

I've been around software and loving software and technology since God.

I remember when I got my first IBM PC.

I mean, I've been in love with technology for a long time.

And I would say that I'm very clearly a technology optimist.

I've always believed that technology tools were the best manifestation of the best of us.

And just some advice on how to approach investors, how to talk about their story, what investors are looking for, I think would be helpful.

Wow.

There's a lot in that we could spend the next hour.

So let's start with the most important thing, which is that I think that the mistake a lot of entrepreneurs make is they confuse fundraising as a validation event rather than what it really is, which is just a step along the way.

I see this particularly when I look at how people treat venture capital.

The reality is that the significant majority, even well north of 95, 99% of startups never raise a dollar of outside capital other than their friends and family or their own bootstrapping.

I mean, any other, you know, the ways you can share besides VC money, I think would be helpful.
