Boy, is that a loaded question.

I'd like to say because we like to drink, but it is a little bit deeper than that.

So one of our ideal situations for Vara and part of the reason Vara came together was to be able to show off some beautiful wines made by the mission grape called Liston Prieto, the first grape planted in the United States by the Spaniards back in 1629.

We were able to trace some of the genealogy back and get some original plantings from the Canary Islands and reintroduce them down into New Mexico.

Oh, wow.

You know, almost 400 years, they didn't stick around.

Yeah, so talk about that.
