Has there been much resistance to change? Have you had a bit of pushback in how it's been with the staff?

There's an incredible amount of resistance to change.

This club has been going in one direction for 169 years.

We turn up and want to go in a different direction.

We've always done it like that.

Let's tell the truth.

Let's not.

But it does evolve, constantly trying to be better than last season.

Local or international?

For far too long now, this city has not shouted about itself.

It would be a once-in-a-generation investment...

John, you brought the Ultras

to Sheffield FC.

What on earth is going on? Well, it's a big match.

We're pushing for promotion.

Obviously, we've got this under-16s comfort out.

I'll let John explain himself.

Talk to me.

How on earth has this come around? It's very exciting, this.

It's come about because I've always had an interest in Sheffield Club.

As a Sheffield native, a lot of us are schooled in the idea that we invented football in this city, right? In about 2018, my manager, David Bianchi, and myself made an attempt to get involved or purchase the club and...

We're quoted a price that seemed silly to us at the time and so we walked away from that and thought that was that.

Fast forward to 2025 and here we are.

who will be joining John on his journey?

And there's indie royalty in the stands tonight.

And I have also scored a diving header at the Allman football in a Sheffield FC versus Borussia Dortmund celebrity game.

It'd be amazing to see this club go from strength to strength, both on and off the pitch, wouldn't it, over the next few years?

Yeah, it's a great, obviously a very important cultural asset for the city of Sheffield and I think it's a strongly held desire for everybody in the city to see it kind of doing well and in good fettle.

Do you know what? I'm proud.

I'm proud that it's here.

Ooh

... doing a special album show.

Small, intimate show.

It's part of, uh, we got in the charts with the number one album, uh, the other week, so we have got a bunch of in-store dates to fulfill.

And then back to Sheffield, recording, uh, a bunch of stuff.

And then we're gonna play in the Fan Park on Wednesday before the E- England anthems, uh, in Sheffield.

Do a thing there and play the songs.

[laughs]
