and I'm just trying to be cool about it.

I had like, I remember everything I wore.

I had these Gap like mustard orange jeans and the denim Gap shirt.

I had this old bike hat and I remember just like tucking in my shirt and going in and just the theater's dark and there's all these people like a bunch of directors and touring company directors and a producer.

I didn't know at the time who was there.

Why don't you tell us a little bit about the Substack, uh, which is called Asshole in the City, right?

That's correct.

Um, you know, I had been thinking about what to do with it, what to call it, if anything, and I'd had this idea for a book pitch which I really like.

You know, the notion of it is I've made a career for the most part playing assholes or asshole-type characters, and it really became this thing to me about the existential pondering of like, "Well, why am I so good at this? Am I an asshole and I don't realize it?" And so that became the question and the thesis of the book.

And so to me, it was just setting out to prove that I'm not an asshole through a bunch of short stories and anecdotes and whatnot.

And so that's at least how I'm very loosely approaching the Substack, where not every story is necessarily gonna be that, but it-- you can always make the argument that it's about that, and it just seemed like such a funny idea to me.

So that's what I'm trying with it, and I'm sure it'll expand beyond that.
