What's the differences between those positions? Are they similar enough, or are they that different that you have to kinda retrain your brain?

Uh, it's, it can be quite different, um, for depending on the guy.

Um, I think the, the key is that you have to have really good feet.

You gotta be able to make different throws from different angles, and be able to turn the...

You know, obviously I'm facing the first baseman when I'm throwing the, the pitch, the, the, the ball from shortstop double play situation to first, and then then I got my back to me when I ha- I'm a second baseman, right? So I have to have really good hands, I have to have really good feet, and, um, I gotta be able to make that, you know, transition seamlessly, you know? Um, obviously Nomar was a, a really great player in his own right, and he was a number one pick.

Um, so they didn't really want to move him, uh, to second base or to third base.

They really wanted to bring him up as a shortstop.

Right.

Did you ever find at home there were more distractions than on the road and then that ever affect you at all?

Well, I can honestly tell you that failure has a lot to do with everything, right? So when you are struggling, there's going to be more distractions.

There's going to be a little bit more booze.

A lot of people are going to want to know why you're struggling.

They're going to ask you a lot of questions.

You know, Fenway Park has always been an advantage for hitters because that's where you play most of your games, right? So...

You know, as a young team, as the Red Sox are, they are going through the ups and downs that a lot of young players go through.

How often were you able to kind of fix some of the things you were struggling with in BP versus doing it in a game, in a game scenario? What was the balance there?
