Right.
7:57
Like, um, so yeah, I was, uh, I was, um, I, I flew helicopters in the military and I thought that was going to be my life.
8:05
Right.
8:05
And, uh, many overseas, uh, deployments later, I figured that, um, I was going to miss a lot of time with my family.
8:12
And so, uh, they call it kind of dropping your letter.
8:15
I dropped my, my resignation letter in 2018, which is typically about a year before you get out.
8:21
It was looking for what I was going to do when I grew up.
13:07
right?
8:59
Um, John, I am curious, how did you get involved with Highway, and what did you do before?
9:05
Yeah.
9:05
Um, so I, I actually started in the military.
9:09
Um, I did 11 years of active duty service flying helicopters, um, for the Navy.
9:15
And then, uh, did multiple deployments and decided I had to do something different.
9:20
Um, in 2019, I co-founded a startup called Neutral, which was digital freight matching.
9:26
So, uh, I, I started in the industry just literally sitting behind carrier reps and dispatchers and load planners at brokers and carriers, um, trying to learn, like, w- how they, how freight is actually booked, how freight is actually moved.
