Here's what I would say though, Jerry, like we have an opportunity with a couple of new lines in development, the Ontario line, the North expansion of, of the number one line.

John Tory JrGUEST
Why don't we start with outfitting those stations where we're still doing it from the ground up and maybe we can put in the barriers at a lower cost and And we can use those as the pilot project.

John Tory JrGUEST
I don't understand why the constant focus has to be on our existing stations, where we know from putting in elevators and wheelchair ramps, it's very expensive to retrofit 100-year-old stations.

John Tory JrGUEST
So let's start with where we have green space, put them in, see how it goes, or at least get the ball rolling.

Jerry AgarHOST
Well, to be honest, I don't know what Uber costs in Italy, but that does seem high.
Hour 3- McCarthy Tétrault international trade lawyer John Boscariol on Donald Trump pausing a new round of 50 per cent tariffs on Canadian goods that were set to take effect today, according to a new study, flight attendants and pilots have the highest risk of dying from radiation-linked cancers and free for all round two.

They were talking on the order of, uh, .1, uh, I, I, um, milligrays, I think, is the word they used, um, or millisieverts, which is the measurement of radiation.

John Tory Jr.GUEST
So they're saying that your risk could be as high as 20% to 30% more for ionizing type cancers, uh, with a bunch of asterisks beside that saying that they had a wide, in the study that was referenced, had a wide range of factors that weren't controlled, but definitely a higher risk.

John Tory Jr.GUEST
You know, flight crew members, uh, cabin crew members, uh, in the industry just talking about that increased risk because we are aware of it.

John Tory Jr.GUEST
Um, and as one example, if a flight crew member or cabin crew member becomes pregnant, uh, they often ha- stop flying after about two months.
Hour 4- The Trillium’s Tina Yazdani on moderating the Ontario Liberal Party Leadership debate, a mysterious cash surge for Alberta’s separatist party is tied to out-of-province donors, Kathleen Wynne - Stuff that’s working… and stuff that isn’t - Final appearance and Aviation expert John Tory Jr on a Canadian flight attendant arrested for impersonating a pilot to scam free flights.

But I mean, again, how does something escalate with in a situation like this to the point where the pilot says, that's it, we're going back?

John Tory JrGUEST
And I've been in the front where we've had to deal with this and stop a flight.

Um, any reason? Like, what, what do you take from this as to why you might go to this, uh, huge expense?

John Tory Jr.GUEST
Well, the, the main one is if the person isn't safe enough to have around others on a, on a commercial airliner.

John Tory Jr.GUEST
And remember, it's not just the part where you're sitting on the plane, it's also the part where you're going through the terminal.

John Tory Jr.GUEST
It's also the part where you're having the baggage and the goods and the people screened.

John Tory Jr.GUEST
And so if you have somebody who's very violent or who's, uh, or who spits people or is openly hostile or just w- is going to sit there and say terrible things for nine hours, there, there are a wide range of things that might result in the agency deciding that they need to have this person in a more controlled environment.

John Tory Jr.GUEST
Um, and, and across the law enforcement agencies, CBSA is just one of them, this isn't unusual.

John Tory Jr.GUEST
Uh, our company does a little bit of this type of work, more in the, in the local area, moving, uh, people around for judicial purposes within the provinces or within Canada.
Hour 2: The Five Things You Need to Know, CP24’s Courtney Heels and NEWSTALK 1010 crime specialist Mark Mendelson on a weekend of deadly shooting violence, John Tory Jr to suspend his campaign for Parliament in the Beaches East York riding and free for all round one.

John Tory Jr.GUEST
I'm, I po- posted this morning and was conferring with my team and was very thankful to them for the huge effort we put in before we announced a week ago or so and, uh, this weekend that I'm suspending that campaign, um, in the interest of s- keeping out, of spending energy on what can be potentially divisive leadership races and putting all of my energy into focusing on making sure we elect a Liberal MP in Beaches-East York.
John ToryHOST
And, uh, that, uh, also constrains the ability of somebody like you and some of the others to be out selling memberships 'cause they've kinda cut that off, and it affects the decision, obviously, you had made, uh, thinking you'd have some time to do that.

John Tory Jr.GUEST
And anybody who was a registered Liberal before July 10th, I believe it said in the notice, is eligible to vote.
Hour 3: Chris Murie, owner of Dizzy Sports Bar, on how business is booming thanks to the World Cup. Data from OpenTable confirms, John Tory Jr makes an announcement in studio and free for all round two.

I bring an ability to listen, uh, and to work hard as a team player, and to be a strong advocate on issues that are important to our constituents and where they feel that they need a voice.

John Tory Jr.GUEST
And so that's on things like affordability, both of housing and on everyday living, on the building a stronger economy, which is not just about having big companies come, but also about- ... people and families having opportunities for themselves and for their children as they plan their lives and just want to go to work and maybe have a chance to have things be a little bit better or get that next promotion or open a business or, or keep their current business, uh, thriving and prosperous in Beaches-East York.

John Tory Jr.GUEST
... [laughs] I mean, I, I, I'm, thank you for saying that I have a great mind.

John Tory Jr.GUEST
We have a need in Canada for greater electricity and production and grid capacity.

John Tory Jr.GUEST
And just like the TikTok thing, they're advertising where the elected officials are.

John Tory Jr.GUEST
So I would say that the people doing the advertising want the MPs to see it, but I don't think it's timed around that.

i almost had it um did not finish it so like does this comp i don't think this does but you tell me does this compromise the show at all because the i mean they're not jets i get that but they're i mean these are efficient they're fast they're playful you can do lots of stuff with them

John Tory Jr.GUEST
So if you look at the Blue Angels, the Thunderbirds, the Red Arrows, they're all jets and the Snowbirds.

John Tory Jr.GUEST
And the Snowbirds, although it was a slower paced show, they were known for their precision and being able to work these older single engine jet aircraft through incredible paces.

John Tory Jr.GUEST
So I think the Blue Angels fly a seven ship formation and the Snowbirds, I think we're up to 11 at some points.

John Tory Jr.GUEST
There were definitely some very impressive things about what the Snowbirds did with that Tudor fleet.

I was trying to think off the top of my head if I could think of an airport in the US where it has been done, and I think the closest one is LAX, but I don't believe they went to one of these foreign consortia.

John Tory Jr.GUEST
I believe that they're privately run, but again, in a, in sort of a structure similar to the GT double A.

John Tory Jr.GUEST
In North America, we tend to treat our airports as tax collection vehicles as opposed to economic development vehicles, and this is one of those big steps in unlocking productivity in our airports and treating them as economic development because we're getting the government out of that game.

John Tory Jr.GUEST
And government are good at a lot of things, but they're not necessarily good at recognizing where economic development is going to occur, especially when the private sector gets involved.

John Tory Jr.GUEST
And so if you look at Europe and why you can fly for 20 pounds from one city to another, it's because those smaller cities have recognized their airports as economic development assets, and they attract the airport carriers to come to them.

John Tory Jr.GUEST
That just doesn't exist in Canada, and this might be the first step in sort of saying, well, in- so maybe the larger airports are going to be focused on international hub travel, and some of our smaller regional airports are going to be focused as economic development and growth agents for those areas and for other similar communities they can be connected to across Canada.

John Tory Jr.GUEST
the bond you get to build with the people sitting beside you and they change and you get to know these people and I'm a talker, probably no surprise.

John Tory Jr.GUEST
And so you get to learn about this person who's sitting right beside you and there's an inherent trust given what you're up there doing.

You have no idea, Shane, how complicated it is putting anything on an airplane, but in particular communications device, even things like the exact positioning of the antenna on the outside.
