It's a big decision, John, and I'm wondering what the decision that you made, how it's gone on to influence the way that you've thought about other big decisions you've made in your life.

What I really do is reflect on some of those early years.

You just think about the influence that the decision to go to UCLA had on my whole life.

That singular decision has just really, I could have gone right and I went left.

And here is all these opportunities that came as a result of that.

It's just, it's fairly, it's remarkable.

But that decision came about, it was really experiential.

If it is something that you do regularly, I'd love to hear how that practice has evolved and what you've learned about the ways people love to hear feedback.

Um, super important to me.

Coaching education is a question I get a lot, and how is USAV doing that? And, and I think historically have not reached full potential or close to it from our perspective.

So w- w- taking a real, like, let's step back, let's evaluate how we've been thinking about this.

And, and some of the analytics are pretty interesting.

Um, we used to run something called CAP, which is our, the USAV training program.

The uptake was, like, .01%, or maybe it was .11.

Yeah.

... leadership skills do you think translate? Um, I guess what's different? Can you take us through that?

Yeah, there's a lot actually.

Um, I think as a men's coach, I was really paying attention to the NCAA landscape, the larger picture of the sport, because I know it's changing so rapidly.

I mean, NIL and the house case and all that.

So I, I was starting to think with a, like a bigger picture and wondering about that transition.

You know, what would it be like to do that? And I remember my first day, we flew out to Colorado Springs, and I was meeting all the employees one by one on, on the, the leadership team and, um, then meeting each department.

You know, you had your marketing and, and you had, uh, you know, events, and you went all the way through and just hearing, okay, here are some of the challenges.
