What pushed you away from the parties? What led to your decision?

Well, I had been registered as a Democrat for most of my life, and I finally recognized that at the state level, the Nevada State Democratic Party and its candidates and representatives were not representing rural Nevada at all.

I think our federal officials keep rural Nevada in mind at the top of their mind, but it's not something that moderate and liberal legislators think about too much is the importance of rural Nevada.

And I think where they have mostly frustrated me is in their redistricting.

And I would imagine that both parties would redistrict to their favor whenever they have the opportunity.

But as Marcy pointed out, because They're not getting nonpartisan votes in the primaries.

People are losing out.
