Yeah.

I at 21, I got in my car, packed it up with stuff from Minneapolis and moved to L.A. and went to a school called Art Center College of Design, which is very commercial, slick school.
3:52
I was kind of an oddball because I loved Kubrick and Truffaut and Hitchcock.
3:56
And it was a very slick.
3:58
A lot of commercial directors came.
3:59
Michael Bay came out of there.
4:01
Tarseem was in our class.
6:44

I love when he talks about this.

[laughs] Um, I was in film school, got out of film school, wasn't sure, like, should I dive in and make movies like I wanted to, or should I go and learn about the world? And all the great artists have trauma and turmoil in their lives, and I grew up in Minnesota with a great life, and I had none of that.
4:25
And so I called a friend of mine who's a psychologist, I went to school with him in Minneapolis, and I said, "What should I do?" And he goes, "Dummy, you're in LA.
4:34
You're in the backyard of the original hotline." The LA Suicide Prevention Center is the first hotline ever that the model was made on.
4:41
He said, "Go volunteer.
4:42
You'll learn all about the human condition."
MichaelHOST

[laughs]
4:44
So I, I volunteered, and I'm still there, and that was right after college, so I've been there forever.
