What do you think is going to happen with the Trojans catching a field goal at home?
31:10
You know, I feel like you can just feel the public waiting to pounce on the loser of this game.
31:17
I think everyone is sharpening their axes to say, told you they were frauds, whether it's Oregon losing or USC losing.
31:24
And I think...
31:26
In this case, you know, so much was made of Oregon this year being the most complete team coming into the season.
31:32
That has not been the case.
31:33
And I think their defense, namely the front seven, has been the most overrated unit, probably in all of college football, at least relative to its performance.
32:51
Long trip for the Bruins, but do you expect good things for them?
31:29
What do you think is going to happen with the Trojans catching a field goal at home?
31:33
You know, I feel like you can just feel the public waiting to pounce on the loser of this game.
31:40
I think everyone is sharpening their axes to say, told you they were frauds, whether it's Oregon losing or USC losing.
31:47
And I think...
31:49
In this case, you know, so much was made of Oregon this year being the most complete team coming into the season.
31:55
That has not been the case.
31:56
And I think their defense, namely the front seven, has been the most overrated unit, probably in all of college football, at least relative to its performance.
33:14
Long trip for the Bruins, but do you expect good things for them?
28:19
You like the under on this one.
28:23
So the, the Commanders really stuck out to me.
28:25
I was writing a, a column that's up on Rotowire.com. It's about leveraging, uh, combined team over/unders and, and implied totals, and how to, you know, attack that for, for your best ball teams.
28:36
But for, for our purposes here, for, for the futures market, Washington really stood out to me.
28:42
I didn't expect them to be a team that would rank in the top 10 in terms of game environment.
28:47
W- so game environment is, like, your average combined total for, for every game, and Washington w- was way up there, and I figured that Vega- or the oddsmakers weren't really projecting, like, a, a huge offensive boom from Washington.
29:00
So what I found was that Washington's defense is expected to allow the third-most points.
30:27
So if you're lower on those two teams, are you taking the Dallas Cowboys? Are you thinking about it to win the NFC East, plus 205, the current price at DraftKings?
23:49
Win total coming in at eight and a half.
23:53
I am a little bit bearish o- on this A&M team thi- this year.
23:57
I think the, the line being set at eight and a half after the year that they had a season ago is pretty telling.
24:02
Um, I, I think they, they lost some talent.
24:04
Obviously everybody knows about Casey Concepcion, but, you know, lost some guys o- off the edge a- as well and, and in the trenches.
24:10
So I do think that you can argue that A&M is one of those teams that has the, uh, war chest to, to reload on the fly a little bit.
24:18
So I don't think the talent is, is gonna be an issue necessarily, but I'm a little bit concerned about the quarterback and I'm a little concerned about the schedule.
28:14
Nevertheless, you still are looking at this Texas team to win the conference.
15:08
But do you have a traditional Big Ten team winning the Big Ten this year, or is it gonna be one of the recent additions?
15:17
Um, so the...
15:18
It's gonna be really competitive at, at the top there.
15:20
I mean, the, the Big Ten is...
15:21
You know, they're, they're pounding their chest.
15:23
They, they've won the last three, uh, national titles and every- everything like that, so they, they've got a lot to be bragging about.
15:30
I think it's Oregon's turn, uh, th- this year o- once again to, to win their, I guess it would be their second Big Ten championship in the last three years.
18:59
Who do you got there? Are you gonna take your Georgia to win yet another, or is it time for somebody else to win the SEC?
16:56
John, you also have an early win total that you like for us, uh, an under in the AFC South.
17:03
I think Indianapolis comes back to earth a little bit, uh, this year.
17:07
I, I did some, some digging on this, and, you know, looked at, uh, the implied points per game for, for, for every team thi- this year and compared that to their points per game from a year ago.
17:18
And the oddsmakers have, uh, Indianapolis as one of the biggest regressors as far as points per game this season.
17:25
Now, that's not everything, could their defense improve? Like, sure.
17:27
And Daniel Jones, if he stays healthy the whole season, blah, blah, blah.
17:31
But I think that this is an offense that was kind of catching people off guard, catching people by surprise, I think, through the first two, three months o- of the season last year, all the way up through Daniel Jones' injury.
18:47
John, you've got a Super Bowl exacta bet you wanna tout.
3:18
What, what do you say we talk about the NCUA board and all those tentacles first?
3:24
Let me take a stab at part of that, and I know Jeff can fill in the blanks.
3:28
The an- the, John Cruz, who is the deputy assistant secr- treasury secretary, has been nominated by the president.
3:36
There's a very good likelihood he gets a confirmation hearing before the end of June.
3:40
Congress is leaving for the recess on June 26, and it sounds like he is going to get a hearing in the Senate Banking Committee June 25th.
3:48
At least that's what several sources on the Banking Committee have told me.
3:53
Those hearings are not publicly announced until a week before, so we haven't seen it noticed, but it, I think it's gonna happen.
7:16
Yeah
11:46
[laughs]
11:47
And I was telephoned by the attorney general and, um, I concluded by saying, "Well, look, imagine a barge pole stretching from Perth where you are to Melt where I am.
11:59
That still wouldn't be long enough for me to touch the job." But about three years later, uh, in 2014, the, uh, commissioner had retired.
12:09
The acting commissioner'sWere running the shop and did a very good job.
12:13
One of them is now Chief Justice of Tasmania.
12:16
Um, but to some of the officers that got into sort of minor, minor misconduct and some not so minor misconduct, there was sort of open warfare between the PI and aspects of the commission.
12:34
And one morning...

13 MINS LATER

26:02
But what you s- did you see your role then as, as investigating and beginning a kind of c- a public conversation about particular areas where w- there needed to be change? I mean, talk us through a little bit more where you saw your role then as a anti-corruption commissioner in, in this, in this, in this kind of ongoing attempt to create what we wanna have, right? We wanna have people in public office exercising their powers with, with integrity.
