figured in the last couple of days so um what's the what's the thought in terms of the that situation in the west we'll say that is that nitrate any sure is it more watery grass

i'd say it's a bit of both sure um i'm hearing some people talk about mercury as being being high which would suggest um maybe a little bit higher nitrate in the grass now it's going to be high high nitrate this time of year anyway so And the general comment I'm hearing back from farmers is that the cows are eating a lot of it, which would also suggest that the dry matter is low, that they're trying to get as much of it into them as possible to fulfill their requirements.

And we've also had really, really good growth in the last two weeks.

Just talking to a few of our focus farmers, we have five focus farmers on the on the Erivo joint programme and their average farm covers were at 900 last week and they're heading for about 950 this week after having another really good week of growth so we're kind of seeing regrowths coming up in the paddocks as cows are grazing if the pre-grazing yield is any way high at all heading up for the 1900-2000 there's a lot more grazings in the field than there used to be during the summer And with the strong growths and the people are actually seeing the shoots coming up on the first and second grazings within the field.

So they have to start back fencing a little bit there too.

So, but yeah, probably dry matters are low and I'm hearing some farmers putting in maybe a kilo or two of silage, maybe just for that to compensate for that.
