Where, where is that balance when you're working with clients to make sure they're getting the value from their money, that they're spending their life force, the most important thing we have is our time on this planet, but also making sure they have a big enough nest egg where they're not putting themselves in a vulnerable situation?
27:48
That's perfect.
27:50
Um, we struggle with this on a regular basis.
27:52
A lot of people come to us at, like, 55 years old, you know? Or, or, yeah, that's about right, 55, 60 years old, and they come, um, ready to do their retirement planning, and what happens is exactly what you're talking about.
28:08
So we s- we set out a plan for them, project out, you know, their expenses, what they're gonna have between now and retirement, and then in retire- [clears throat] pardon me, in retirement.
28:20
What happens is they have wind up with so much more money than they ever thought they were going to have, even though we talked about that in our planning.
28:29
They refuse, a lot of them do, refuse to spend that money because they have been so accustomed to penny pinching, if you will.

How do you, for your clients, view diversification?
7:30
What do you mean you mentioned that age could be an asset or a liability? Could you talk a little bit about that for our listeners?
7:38
Sure.
7:38
Well, I'm 74 years old, and, um, I started working when I was 10 years old.
7:43
Well, almost 11, so we'll say I was late teens, okay? I had a newspaper route that I got up at 3:30 in the morning and, and worked for.
7:50
So I enjoy working.
7:51
I enjoy what I do, I'm doing now for over three decades.
7:55
I don't wanna retire.

What's, what are important things to cover? When should you do it? How do you approach your children?
10:45
So what is the book and who's it for and what's it talking about?
10:51
So the reason that I wrote the book is basically kind of a day in the life of us, if you think about it.
10:58
Because some people, the first thing that comes to my mind when I think about the importance of everything is people will come in, we'll give them this kind of a document checklist.
11:09
Okay, you would like for us to evaluate your situation.
11:12
Here are, you know, 12 things that we need or 15 or 20 in order to be able to have a conversation with you about kind of where you are.
11:21
And they may come in with the front page of a statement, you know, and say, so here's what I got.
11:28
And I'm like, okay, well, that doesn't help a whole lot.

39:46
So how do you address that kind of fear?
