It just reminded me of, of uh just how i felt watching it you know like watching this again it always brings back memories of like the first time i saw this because it was such a revelation first i was watching an r-rated movie at 12 and then which i've been doing for years but still but this was just just yeah i don't think this is one of my favorite all-time first watches i went just as a kid of any movie i've ever watched just because it just felt so cool and i loved ashby's an idiot but i still love him i don't know if you feel that same way
4:35
I mean, so my first horror movie ever, complete watch, unedited, was Evil Dead 2.
4:43
Oh, really? When I was 10 in New York, my father and I were visiting my two uncles who were living together.
4:50
One was an off-Broadway director and the other was doing stage acting.
4:56
And they're up late, you know, drinking, smoking cigarettes.
5:00
One's going over lines or something.
5:01
The other one's working on a screenplay.

7 MINS LATER

12:23
The extras aren't heralded in that scene, John, because they actually look
5:31
This movie rocks.
5:33
They really jammed a lot into this movie.
5:37
And it's interesting because this didn't get a theatrical review, did it? Minor.
5:41
Very minor.
5:41
It made like two million.
5:43
So basically, no.
5:46
When I think of an action movie... that is not a mega budget thing.

39 MINS LATER

44:28
So I'm not sure what else there
9:25
Like, I think we could have had a really cool character piece, but instead we get a Sunday nap movie.
9:30
Yeah.
9:30
Yeah.
9:31
And again, perfectly pleasant thing.
9:33
I'll unfortunately say with that pleasantness and the lows that aren't that low and the highs that aren't that high, that this is probably going to be for me a very forgettable movie.
9:47
This is probably going to be a movie where in just two or three years, I will hardly remember anything.
9:54
thing about it and I would need to watch a trailer to remind myself of to re-familiarize myself with it you know like it's it's interesting and for all the screen time Russell has because he probably has the second most screen time of anyone in the movie behind Goldie his impact in his most impactful scenes feels like a supporting character and not a star.

25 MINS LATER

35:29
line from him it goes oh balls look at you i mean i'm sorry no that's not really too good
4:57
It's not going to do obsession numbers, but I think it's going to be a successful little slasher.
5:01
So we don't know yet when or how this is going to get released.
5:05
No, we don't.
5:07
So folks, I can't even find a trailer for this thing.
5:10
Every trailer I found had a few screen grabs and it was just someone who like fooled you into thinking it was a trailer.
5:15
And I'm like really annoyed now because now I want to see this trailer.
5:19
So all I have right now is this, is what Mark's given me.

6 MINS LATER

11:17
It's just grown in estimation in my head as I've watched it.
24:20
Oh, what's it? Let's hear it.
24:21
Okay.
24:21
So this actually was a conversation.
24:23
I was trying to get a listener question from, uh, a, a good friend and my old lab technician, Michael Bernal, if you're listening.
24:29
But so we were just having a conversation, and he was saying how his biggest gripe in Star Wars was, you know, somehow Palpatine survived when we're get to the, you know, the third trilogy of Episodes VII to IX.
24:44
Like, somehow he survived, and he's like, he's like, "That was, that was just too big a reach for me." I'm like, "That was your biggest reach?" And I brought up to him, how about in Episode II, where Palpatine is the only alleged non-Sith or Jedi or Force-sensitive person that we've ever seen in any of the movies who talks exactly like a Jedi multiple times, where he refers specifically to comparing the power and/or wisdom of Jedi 1 to Jedi 2, whereas everyone else in all these movies, if they are not at least Force-touched, refers to them all as these mystical things.
25:24
They're all basically equal.

29 MINS LATER

54:14
[laughs]
