45:29
And it's actually an upgrade.
45:30
I...
45:35
Yeah, I like this on a couple vehicles.
45:38
Actually, the classic Land Raider, I think, really likes this.
45:41
On the classic Land Raider, I mean, we could just do an attachment now or a data sheet now if we want to just move.
45:46
Let's do it.
45:47
Yeah, okay.
48:38
i'll tell you why i don't
52:17
What would you like to come back?
52:19
next one I'm actually just going to hop over real quick to the stern guard veteran we're going to keep it on good call the stern guard veteran I want to cover the changes to their weapons so stern guard are a toughness five space marine nothing crazy veteran marksman is their rule it's going to give them range attacks rerolling a hit roll of one which is quite solid because we have mentioned several times that there are not as many rules as your mom expected and it said what we're going to look at here is the weapons so we're gonna see we're gonna we get a couple of interesting things here first is the heavy bolter the heavy bolter is three shots of strength five ap1 damage two so it will stay at strength five meaning it'll go to space around four this is a place where the toughness of the space brain matters a lot it is sustained hits one but it is rapid fire two so that heavy bolter is much more of a volume weapon than it is and this will be consistent we're going to see that most heavy bolters are strength five some special heavy bolters will be strength six but only if you're like a dedicated heavy bolter guy.
53:18
If you're just a heavy bolter on a tank, strength five.
53:20
All of them are rapid fire too.
53:22
That means that at 18 inches, you are cranking this bad boy up to five shots each, which is, I will say, a noticeable improvement.
53:30
That, pretty good.
53:34
Now, if you're not carrying a heavy bolter, this is the rest of the squad, you're going to have an artificer firearm.

9 MINS LATER

63:03
we'll do diddly nothing to tanks because you'll have eight shots the last one kick in wounding on fives cool you'll make them take three saves um what different can do not a big deal at all um but yeah that's definitely something we need to point out but dude uh one more data sheet from yourself sir and then we're out of here
2:28
And, uh, yeah, how you settled on this eight pack.
2:31
Yeah, I'm, um, I'm happy to do it.
2:33
So for Team USA, I'll give you the, the real quick version of how we do it at Team USA.
2:39
Um, when we begin our process, which last year started, uh, uh, started in October, but started earnestly in November, because I, I had a wedding of my own, and so I was a little occupied, uh, up until that point.
2:52
We get together, uh, applications from, uh, people throughout the country.
2:56
We have a qualifying system based on either recommendations or, uh, team, or, like, individual Elo, so you can either get a rec or just auto-qualify.
3:05
And then we assemble a team after an application interview process and some votes, and we get to a 16-player academy in addition to last year's eight.

8 MINS LATER

10:49
Next up we have Brian Sipe on Orks, Equatorial Hordes, and Freebooter crew ta- taking take and hold.
20:36
So what happened with the musical, though? The, the-
20:37
So, uh, previews, opening night, we're shooting, uh, uh, uh, last minute I said, "You know what? Throw, put the fucking, put the real golf balls out there." [laughs] This is the, this is the fucking theater.
20:47
This is New York City.
20:49
Whoo.
20:50
Whoo.
20:50
Well, yeah, I gotta tell you, right, the first thing we...
20:53
So the first preview ends, and we get, we hear the w- the, the words no director of theater producer ever wants to hear.

24 MINS LATER

44:42
There doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason to it.
9:57
Uh, but John, how do you deal with overwhelm personally?
10:00
Yeah.
10:00
Um, I do it by trying to compartmentalize.
10:04
And so the first time I'm learning something new, I try not to learn too much at once.
10:12
And so how that's normally gonna manifest is that if I am playing a game for work and I'm trying to learn seventh edition, I'm not gonna try to learn too much.
10:23
So I'm gonna simultaneously play something that I'm very comfortable with, but also play something that I'm not trying to master, if that makes sense.
10:30
So my first couple of games of 11th Edition, uh, they're just ones that I was playing, uh, at work as a, I need to understand this game before I can make a video talk about it.

21 MINS LATER

31:32
[laughs]
5:02
How does this edition rank up against seventh, uh, sorry, eighth and ninth edition? The, what, what is considered the modern editions of the game, John?
5:10
Uh, I would say that 10th has been my favorite so far, but it's...
5:16
If I grade it on an absolute scale, I'll say that 10th is the best, but it didn't have, in my opinion, quite as much of the improvement from the last that we've seen in some of the others.
5:25
Uh, it felt like 10th was much more of a refine and just, like, try not to change the entire system from ninth, other than the indexing.
5:34
Whereas, uh, you know, we look at seventh to eighth, in my mind, as like the great leap forward.
5:39
But I, honestly, like 10th was probably better, but it was just a little bit better than ninth.
5:45
And it felt like a pretty smooth transition, honestly.

1 HR 9 MINS LATER

74:38
Ironstorm.
6:17
Sure
6:17
SureI don't really know why I spent that command point.
6:19
I don't, I don't really know [laughs] what the upside was there, 'cause it's immediately gone.
6:22
But now that there's an actual tangible the battle shock might stick around, uh, players might have to take more battle shocks more often.
6:30
That means making someone battle shock out of sequence, something Chaos Knights are capable of doing, uh, is, is a lot more useful.
6:36
And then if people have to take more battle shock tests across the game, a leadership modifier, again, this is very much Chaos Knights, [laughs] not Imperial, that's actually gonna add up a lot more.
6:46
Uh, so I, I think it'll help Chaos Knights get a lot of value out of the, um, let's say the, the not 10th edition top tier mechanics in the codex.

35 MINS LATER

42:03
Yeah.
3:55
Does any of it amount to anything significant?
3:58
Yeah, I mean, essentially just putting the Luminarx Demolisher rule onto all vehicles is perfectly nice.
4:05
Um, I don't at all mind a buff in there to make super heavies more playable, um, which will actually turn out to be a little bit of a theme for the detachment.
4:12
Um, my favorite part of this, 'cause I, I don't think that...
4:15
It, it's nice to shoot into combat, no penalty.
4:18
It's a, it's a very Guard on-brand way to have an alternative to falling back and shooting, something that they really don't wanna give us.
4:24
Um, it's good, but it...

31 MINS LATER

35:50
Is he as good as I think he is?
speaker_15UNKNOWN
95:28
Yeah.
95:28
He knows, yeah.
95:28
I go in and I h- I help him, you know, run some of the songs, rehearse the songs for tour, and uh, get him ready because he's just a nervous guy, you know.
95:35
"I'm not ready, I'm not ready.
95:36
Oh, they're gonna go out there, they're gonna throw popcorn at me." I say, "You know, Paul, not a lot..." First of all, the stadiums he plays in are humongous.
95:45
To get a piece of popcorn anywhere is difficult anyway.
95:51
So he's nervous and I get him calmed down.

6 MINS LATER

101:34
(laughs) Wasn't, uh, wasn't the song Imagine about snakes originally? You know how like Yesterday was about scrambled eggs originally?
