So reading your book, I was struck by your conversation of the Naturalization Act.

Other people talking about this issue, I mean, as you were just saying, they don't seem to get this point.

And so I guess, could you, as you've been doing, kind of sketch what was the situation like with the Naturalization Acts in our early republic? So is this the right situation where if you have like a French family and they have children in France and then they move to the United States, then they get naturalized? then when the parents get naturalized at that same point, the children receive their citizenship.
