24:41
How do you see that playing out?
24:43
Oh, I think that's exactly right.
24:46
Just as an aside, I'm from Mississippi, and I grew up with the blues and I grew up in those spaces and gyp joints and things of that nature, believe it or not.
24:55
And so when I saw that film, I could see myself reflected in it.
24:59
And I understood that the vampire actually in that particular film wasn't the monster.
25:04
It was actually like oppression and Jim Crow and things of that nature, right? So I think it's a very poignant and palpable metaphor.
25:12
And you can see that resonating in things like Fledgling by Octavia Butler, which is about a young woman who is actually a vampiric creature.
26:55
I mean, is that what you think makes the vampire more compelling than other supernatural creatures?
5:39
But maybe talk a little bit about the book itself, the core tenets behind it, and then how does it actually translate to the day-to-day at Archbridge?
5:48
Yeah.
5:49
So r- really, the, the watershed turning point for me was, as it was for many people in the wealth management industry, was the, the great financial crisis that, you know, really started in, in '07.
5:59
And, and prior to thenLike, I felt to be...
6:02
Like, I, if I was gonna be a great leader and investment advisor, then I needed to know as much of everything as I possibly could.
6:10
So I, I spent hours a day just devouring, um, you know, work by economists and other, you know, investment strategists a- and reading all, all sorts of news and investment newsletters and on and on and on.
6:22
Like, interacting with all our money managers.

20 MINS LATER

26:36
Have you seen any type of change in the type of services that today's new family office requires that might be different from the, you know, previous generations?
24:19
That's what matters.
24:20
I like a rock that's about the size of the palm of my hand.
24:23
I got pretty big hands, so about four inches in diameter is about my ideal.
24:27
And I like it to be a little bit more squared off and, like, have squared edges.
26:06
But will the scandal ruin stone throwing forever? Has it all reached rock bottom? John says he's not worried.
26:13
At the end of the day, we're a bunch of dolts throwing rocks into water.
26:16
(laughs) Like, it's- I don't think it's gonna hurt it.
26:19
If anything, I think it's gonna help it, you know? I've, I've been talking to a lot of people and they always say that, "You know, no publicity is bad publicity," right?
